Storm Damage

After the Storm Passes, the Damage Is Just Beginning

The wind stops. The rain slows. The sky clears. That’s when most homeowners walk outside to assess what happened and that’s also when the real work starts. A missing shingle looks minor until the next rain finds its way into the attic. A downed limb seems manageable until you notice it took the gutter and fascia with it. Storm damage rarely announces its full extent on the first look.
Georgia storms hit hard and fast. Summer thunderstorms drop inches of rain in under an hour. Spring squall lines bring wind gusts over 60 mph. Occasional ice storms weigh down trees and power lines until something gives. Each type of storm creates its own pattern of damage and each one requires a different response.

Got Questions? We've Got Answers

Asbestos questions often come up during renovations, water damage repairs, or property purchases. Below are the questions our customers ask most often. If you’re unsure whether your property contains asbestos, our team can help with inspection and guidance.
A: Only if it’s safe and you can do it without climbing on damaged structures. Falls are the most common storm-related injury. If there’s any doubt about the roof’s integrity, wait for a professional. We provide emergency tarping as part of our response.
A: Check the attic after any major storm. Look for daylight coming through the roof deck, water stains on rafters, or damp insulation. From outside, check for missing shingles, dented gutters, and granules collecting at downspouts. If you’re unsure, get an inspection.
A: Don’t wait. Standing water in a basement can reach the main floor within hours and cause mold growth within a day. Turn off electricity to the area if it’s safe, then call us. We extract water, dry the space, and treat for contamination if needed.
A: Most policies cover wind, hail, and storm-related water damage, though flood damage usually requires separate coverage. We document everything with photos and detailed reports and communicate directly with your adjuster to support your claim.
A: Minor repairs may take a few days. Larger losses involving roof replacement, water damage, or structural repair can take weeks. We provide a clear timeline after assessment and keep you informed throughout the process.
