Fire Damage

What the Flames Leave Behind Matters as Much as What They Take

Most people picture fire damage as charred walls and blackened beams. That’s the obvious part. The part that catches homeowners off guard comes later when the smell won’t leave, when metal fixtures start corroding, when the floors that survived the flames begin to warp from water that ran through the house for hours.
Fire creates three separate problems at once. It burns. It smokes. And it gets put out with hundreds of gallons of water. Each one needs to be addressed, and the order matters.

Got Questions? We've Got Answers

Asbestos questions often come up during renovations, water damage repairs, or property purchases. Below are the questions our customers ask most often. If you’re unsure whether your property contains asbestos, our team can help with inspection and guidance.
A: Not until the fire department clears it and we’ve assessed the structure. Soot contains fine particles that irritate the lungs, and water used during firefighting can weaken floors and ceilings in ways you can’t see.
A: Because the source wasn’t removed. Smoke particles settle into porous materials drywall, insulation, upholstery, wood framing and continue releasing odor until those surfaces are cleaned or replaced. Air fresheners don’t solve it.
A: Sometimes. Soot is acidic and corrodes circuit boards and metal components quickly. The sooner they’re cleaned, the better the odds. We assess each item and document what can be restored versus replaced.
A: That depends on the extent of the damage. Small fires contained to one room may allow you to stay in another part of the home. Larger losses typically require temporary relocation. We’ll give you an honest estimate after assessment.
A: Most policies cover fire damage, smoke damage, and water damage from firefighting. We document everything with photos, moisture readings, and scope reports, and we work directly with your adjuster so nothing gets missed.
